Forward Skating

Forward skating is the most commonly used skating position.  There are many things you need to be aware of while skating forwards to make your stride as strong and effecient as possible.  Certain things to consider are your balance, bending your knees and having full extension of your legs and using your arms to gain momentum and push forwards.  These key elements are all very useful in order to be strong and powerful on your skates so that the opposition is not able to catch you and if they do, not be able to push you off the puck.   There are many other things to look for and improve on when it comes to forward skating and to effectively get the most out of your skating stride.

Working on your forward skating is a MUST! You must continue to always work on your skating both on and off the ice with different drills and exercises.
